All ages are welcome! Whether you are 8 years old or 88 years young. With your desire to learn, we will teach you how to sew in our Sewing Basics 1, 2 & 3. You can be a complete novice or in need of a refresher, as you haven’t sewn since high school! Machine sewing as well as hand sewing.
Long Arm Quilting
Do you have quilt tops waiting to be quilted? Somewhere between the cutting, the piecing and then the binding, the quilting needs to be done. Whether you have baby quilts, table runners or a king size quilt, we can quilt them for you.
With our 20” Amara quilting machine, we use our Pro-Stitcher computer program to perfectly quilt your quilts edge to edge.
We also sell batting, 80% cotton, 20% polyester and wool batting 96″ or 108″ wide Backing fabrics too, 108″ wide.

Sewing Machine 101
Need a refresher on YOUR sewing machine? Learn the basics including, maintenance, needles, proper threading and all the features of your machine. Bring your mechanical or electronic machine. If you bought your machine from us, please call to register.
Learn to Quilt Workshop
In this 5 week workshop, learn quilting basics including, rotary cutting, piecing and pressing, while completing a baby or lap quilt. We supply the rulers, rotary cutters, mats and sewing machines for you to use during class time. Experience all the tools of quilting!
Learn to Quilt Workshop – Baby Quilt
In this 5 week workshop, learn quilting basics including, rotary cutting, piecing, pressing, quilting and binding, while completing this adorable, baby quilt, 42″ x 54″ with our Little Duckling fabric from Moda fabrics.
Knits, Knits, Knits
Confused about sewing with knits? Whats the difference between a Jersey and a Double knit? What pattern to use? What stitches to use? How to hem your garment? There are 2 workshops to chose from, Introduction to Knits and Advanced Knits.
Sew with Me – Halloween
Spend a fun afternoon and create a ghost pillow with your child. Our Sew with Me class is for boys and girls, 5 – 7 years old, with an adult, to spend a couple of hours sewing on our sewing machines. No sewing experience necessary.
Come and spend a couple of hours making a unique bowl with rope, fabric scraps and thread. We supply everything including the sewing machine. Use as a flower planter, trinket bowl, fruit bowl, knitting basket…..fill with treats for a truly unique gift! Some sewing experience is helpful.
Hemming & Mending Workshop
Learn how to hem your pants and fix that rip and sew back on the buttons that have fallen off! And some simple alterations. Bring in 3 – 4 articles of clothing or items that need work. You’ll learn the best way to hem or fix it! We’ll supply the sewing machine!
Need a refresher on YOUR serger? Own one and terrified to use it or even rethread it! Overcome your serging fears by learning all about your serger – how it works, simple threading techniques, and basic construction skills for successful serged projects.
In this workshop, explore ways to machine quilt your Yellow Brick Road from the Quilting Basics Workshop. Or if you have a quilt top from a previous class needing quilting. You’ll try out free motion and straight line quilting with a walking foot.
Jelly Roll Rugs
We are making rugs out of Jelly Rolls of fabric! Come join this fun two session class. Some sewing experience necessary.
Hand embroidery has become very popular over the last little while for all ages. Create something beautiful with your hands and a needle and thread and make a tea cup pin cushion.
After School Sewing
Introduce your child to the world of sewing on a sewing machine! This is for everyone ages 8 – 10 yrs old who wants to learn to sew. They will learn how to thread the machine, use different stitches, learn about seam allowances and make 4 projects in the 8 weeks, including a vinyl pouch, a pillow, tote bag.
Learn to make a stretch lacy bralette with adjustable straps for a fraction of the cost of one in the store. Pattern, fabric and notions supplied. Take home the confidence and pattern to make more! Please supply bra size when registering.
Includes all materials, thread, pattern and the use of our sewing machines! Please bring a basic sewing kit.
Some sewing experience necessary, including threading a sewing machine and understanding and following seam allowances.

Coffee Break Sewing
Need a sewing machine, serger, cutting table? Finish those UFO’s, mend those clothes. This is independent sewing as you work at your own pace and your own projects.
$15/hr plus HST | Please call ahead to make sure there is space and a machine available. You will need to bring your own thread or purchase in shop.
Prerequisite – Our Sewing Basics Class or a Refresher on our sewing machine before you begin ($10 plus HST).
Recyled Mitten Workshop
Do you have an old sweater you’re no longer interested in wearing? Even if it has a rip or a hole, it can still be repurposed into a pair of warm, winter mittens.
